Job Description

This part time opportunity working across 4 days a week will cover our Como and Kingsley sites, will be well mentored and supported by our Senior Occupational Therapist. The successful candidate will play an important part in supporting and improving the physical functioning and quality of life for our residents. The role involves assessing, treating, and rehabilitating clients with various age-related conditions, such as frailty, musculoskeletal issues, neurological impairments, and mobility limitations. The role will include but not limited to:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and develop tailored care plans.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and provide expert advice to the clinical and care team for our residents.
  • Work in collaboration with the Senior Occupational Therapist and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support and guide care partners and clinical staff with therapeutic interventions.
  • Provide clinical care services aligned with best practice and legislative requirements.
  • Lead and support therapy staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with aged care quality standards and WHS policies.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Current AHPRA registration as an Occupation Therapist;
  • Experience in aged care or a similar setting (preferred).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality service delivery;
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Act and Strengthened Standards;

Essential Criteria

  • Current National Police Clearance (no older than six months); 

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in Aged Care sector
  • Current Flu Vaccination.
  • Covid 19 Vaccination.
