Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant to join our Michael Lee Centre in Como. This is a permanent part-time position within the Lifestyle team. As a Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing engaging recreational, leisure and lifestyle activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the development and implementation of leisure and lifestyle programs tailored to the individual needs and preferences of residents
- Encouraging resident participation in recreational activities, outings, and social events to promote social interaction and overall well-being
- Collaborating with the care team to integrate leisure and lifestyle activities into the overall care plan for each resident
- Providing one-to-one support for residents who may require additional assistance during leisure and lifestyle activities
- Contributing to creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment within the Meath community
The work hours for this role will be Monday to Friday, 9.15am to 3.30pm.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have a passion for enriching the lives of others, along with excellent communication skills and an empathetic approach. Previous experience in aged care or similar settings is essential. Previous experience in aged care is essential;
Certificate III Allied Health Assistant or Leisure and Lifestyle is essential;
An understanding of dementia and mental health;
Excellent time management skills;
An outgoing and friendly personality;
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
Ability to work in high-pressure situations;
The skills to be adaptable to suit the needs of the residents;
A current National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months) and a visa with working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
Covid Vaccination and Current Flu Vaccine are essential for this role.
