Job Description

This casual position will work with clients based in our Kingsley, Como, and Trigg Villages. As a Home Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing essential support to individuals within their own homes, promoting their independence and wellbeing. Your main tasks will include:

  • Assisting clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Supporting clients with mobility and physical activities
  • Assisting with meal preparation and feeding as required
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Administering medication following the prescribed guidelines
  • Assisting with light household duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Reporting any changes in clients' condition or needs to the appropriate supervisor
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Prior experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications in health or social care will be advantageous. Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful for the role, we're looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in providing home care or community support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Understanding of the needs of elderly or vulnerable individuals
  • Capability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
  • Reliable and compassionate nature
  • Valid driving license and access to own vehicle for travel between client homes
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a home care setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to promoting independence and dignity for clients
  • Certificate III in Aged Care/ Individual Support/ Health Service Assistance is essential;
  • An understanding of dementia and mental health;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • An outgoing and friendly personality;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
  • The skills to be adaptable to suit the needs of the clients;
  • A current National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months) and a visa with working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
  • Covid Vaccination and Current Flu Vaccine are essential for this role.
