Job Description
This casual position will work with clients based in our Kingsley, Como, and Trigg Villages. As a Home Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing essential support to individuals within their own homes, promoting their independence and wellbeing. Your main tasks will include:
Assisting clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing
Supporting clients with mobility and physical activities
Assisting with meal preparation and feeding as required
Providing companionship and emotional support to clients
Administering medication following the prescribed guidelines
Assisting with light household duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
Reporting any changes in clients' condition or needs to the appropriate supervisor
Maintaining accurate records of care provided
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Prior experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications in health or social care will be advantageous. Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful for the role, we're looking for someone with:
Previous experience in providing home care or community support
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
Understanding of the needs of elderly or vulnerable individuals
Capability to follow care plans and instructions accurately
Reliable and compassionate nature
Valid driving license and access to own vehicle for travel between client homes
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a home care setting
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A commitment to promoting independence and dignity for clients
Certificate III in Aged Care/ Individual Support/ Health Service Assistance is essential;
An understanding of dementia and mental health;
Excellent time management skills;
An outgoing and friendly personality;
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;
The skills to be adaptable to suit the needs of the clients;
A current National Police Clearance (not older than 6 months) and a visa with working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
Covid Vaccination and Current Flu Vaccine are essential for this role.
